LAやサンフランシスコで見つけた「おはしのある風景」。移民の多いカリフォルニアは、古くからあるチャイナタウンやリトルトーキョーなどで「おはしのある風景」が見られましたが、近年は寿司やラーメンの人気などもあり、そこらじゅうで「おはし」を使って食事をする人々が見られます。アジア系の人だけでなく、白人やアフリカ系の人からも「もちろんおはしを使えるよ！」と聞きました。今後の課題は、ラテンアメリカやアラブ、インド、アフリカでおはしを撮ることです。

ともに旅をした香港人でイラストレーターのKylie chanとの共作。旅の前後の心境を綴ったzine、『California before after』もよろしければどうぞ。

Scenes with Ohashi（chopsticks) found in LA and San Francisco. In California, where there are many immigrants, “scenery with chopsticks” could be seen in the old Chinatowns and Little Tokyo, but in recent years, due to the popularity of sushi and ramen, people can be seen eating with chopsticks all over the place. Not only Asian people, but also Caucasians and people of African descent have told us, ‘Of course we can use an chops!’ I heard. My future task is to photograph the chops in Latin America, the Arab world, India and Africa.
This is a collaboration with Kylie Chan, a Hong Kong illustrator who traveled with me. If you'd like, please also take a look at a zine, 'California before after,' which chronicles my feelings before and after the trip.
